Strobilanthes

Strobilanthes is an intermediate/advanced solo for vibraphone (4-mallets). Named after 'strobilanthes dyerianus', or 'Persian shield', which is a type of flowering tropical plant that originates from Mayanmar, this vibrant plant encapsulates the qualities I tried to achieve through harmonic color and juxtaposition of contrasting sections. Strobilanthes was commissioned by the 2021 Ox & Lamb Music Club.
